Rosebery Road in May

Garden designer Kirsty Monaghan has redesigned her 26m x 10m plot to incorporate several seating areas, paths, less lawn and more flower beds, replacing the existing long stretch of grass and rectangular shapes. Her design takes into account the changing needs of her three children as they grow up, not only giving them their own space, but also ensuring for herself a more self-indulgent garden with lots more plants. There are also different areas where she and her husband can relax or entertain. Kirsty's design is based on interlinking circles of lawn separated by a sinuous path which, laid in sandstone setts, leads from a broad, stone terrace behind the house to a raised patio at the far end.
