A Family Town Garden in May

It’s rare to find such a well-designed family garden that pleases everyone without undue compromise. This happy state of affairs has arisen because the garden has been designed and mostly built by a couple and their children. Whilst the husband wanted a big lawn so that he could play games with the children, his wife envisaged an uncluttered garden with breathing space, but also a sense of enclosure. The design hinges on interlinking circular shapes and curves that connect the different spaces around the garden. And, from within each space, there is a surround of plants, flowers and trees, starting from a broad terrace flanking the rear of the house.
